Also (below) Am and PM allocation Criteria and previous years application numbers.

AM and Pm Allocation.

The criteria contained in the EA admissions guidance is used to allocate the 48 places.

After the 48 children are identified, they are allocated to a morning or afternoon session. To achieve as equal a distribution of ages and gender between the 2 groups, the 48 children are ordered according to their sex and birth date and are then allocated to morning or afternoon systematically (am, pm, am, pm etc.).

At Belmont Playcare it is normal for over 90% of parents to request a morning place therefore it is not possible to offer first choice of a morning place.

Parents may request an alternative session from that which they have been allocated. This should be done in writing.

The Board of Trustees will then look at the written requests for alternative session allocation and include all first preference applications who were initially unsuccessful.

The Board may take into consideration letters from outside agencies for children with Individual Needs and will follow the procedures as stated in Belmont Playcare’ s Inclusion and Individual Learning Policy.

They will reapply the sub- criteria laid down by Belmont Playcare. If there is oversubscription at any criteria, final selection will be made on the basis of proximity of the child’s address to the preschool.

Belmont Playcare would like to stress that children attending either a morning or an afternoon session receive the same quality of experience. The sessions follow the same Preschool Curriculum, this has been designed to ensure that all children, no matter which session they attend, have experiences which will lead to the same learning outcomes.

Belmont Playcare would like to inform parents that they have no right to appeal allocation of sessions as per EA guidance.
